27 TheSouthShoreMagazine.com recovery programs, Aspire Health Alliance brings behavioral health care to multiple access points, including emergency rooms, police departments, homes, schools and the workplace. Friendships, living somewhere you want to live and enjoying work are all social determinants of health. Aspire Health Alliance integrates these aspects into its programs and assists people in acquiring and maintaining the physical, mental and social skills needed to function most effectively. Addressing the whole person is essential not just at certain points, but consistently over time. Aspire Health Alliance is a partner in care from infancy until the end of life. Its programs include: EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES: The Step One Early Intervention program serves families with infants and toddlers from birth to three years old that have special needs, including developmental delays, disabilities and environmental or biological risk factors. The team includes therapists, social workers, licensed mental health counselors and nurses that help children build emotional strength and cognitive abilities. "Children deserve this support; they will fare better later in life and so will society as a consequence," says Sheehan. ADOLESCENT PROGRAMS: "There is an increasing emotional pain in the young that is very worrying," says Sheehan. "We need to support them by giving them stability and resources." The Transition Resources and Community Supports (TRACS) program serves teens and young adults ages 16-25 who are currently in treatment for mental health and substance abuse disorders, and connects them to mentors and peers. The Successful Employment (SEP) program supports them by building social and professional job skills so that they can return to school or employment. EMERGENCY SERVICES PROGRAM: This program provides in-home, community and hospital ER-based services to children, teens and adults who are at risk of harming themselves or others, in a 24-hour, seven days a week program. ESP staff also partner We are social beings and relationships are important for our wellness. Aspire Health Alliance has programs such as Peer to Peer and Discovery Day Treatment, designed to help those who struggle with social isolation and lack of daytime structure. Art therapy is an important part of the program.
