See past issues and much more. 2 SSM is a Proud Member PUBLISHER'S LETTER Greetings! I hope that this letter finds you well. I am writing this letter on the verge of the vernal equinox: we made it through another New England winter. Based on my five decades of experience, this one was not too bad. Bring on Spring! January 1, 2019 marked the beginning of year 19 in publication of our magazine. Thank you all for your many years of support. With the demise of Lighthouse Media and Publishing in late December 2018, which includes South Shore Living, Hingham Magazine, Plymouth Magazine, Falmouth Magazine and several others, I would like to reach out to their clients and advertisers and offer Black Rock Advertising and Publishing's services for any advertising and marketing needs. Please contact me directly with any questions you may have. We have a great issue here for you to dive into. Our cover photo and feature article are about the wonderful organization that many of you hold near and dear: The South Shore YMCA! Our photographer Kerry Riordan of Blu Lemonade Photography truly caught the essence of the Y! In our business section, we have a very interesting article on the investment arm of South Shore Bank, a true community bank that offers so many services for businesses and personal banking consumers. Give them a call for any of your banking needs. For your wellness, Dr. Christine Hamori's practice highlights life-changing technological breakthroughs on hair restoration. Our Community section has an informative article on Aspire Health Alliance, formerly known as South Shore Mental Health. This organization is doing great things to help people's overall mental health and wellbeing. We also have another great piece about the work of Road to Responsibility and their positive impact on the special needs community. You don't want to miss this intimate look at the individuals that they have helped, for over 30 years. Check out our friend and super talented musician, Jay Psaros, and his latest rendition of The Beat, focusing on what is going on in the local music scene. Lastly a very special thanks to all of our advertisers. Without their support, I could not put together our quarterly publication for the past 18 years. Please do business with these locally owned and operated businesses and organizations. Their existence relies on you to make that extra effort to keep your business experiences and purchases local. That effort ripples through the entire economy and culture and keeps alive this fantastic region we call home: THE SOUTH SHORE!
