40 they be superstar songwriters or peers on the same musical circuit. Sam, alongside Molly Kupris (and our next feature) also performed at this year's Cape Cod Melody Tent's Chowder Festival on June 23rd. Find Sam Robbins at www.SamRobbinsMusic.com. Last but not least, we have the vibrant and energetic Jillian Jensen. Currently residing in Newton, Massachusetts, Jillian has strong ties to the South Shore. Her energy, big voice and powerful stage presence have put her in the national spotlight on numerous occasions. You may recognize Jillian from The X-Factor, where her emotional performances earned her thousands of fans and millions of online views. Her status as a singing star seems to have little impact on Jillian's humble approach in today's musical landscape. Like Kupris and Robbins, Jillian is a true working musician and one of the most gifted ones at that. She stands above no gig but below no opportunity. She recently had the honor of taking her rock outfit "Amber Eyes" to the big stage in support of Old Dominion at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. Jillian's latest single "One More Round," recorded with her Amber Eyes outfit shows what a strong vocalist Jillian is, as the song kicks off a capella with some killer harmonies—a hard thing to do when trying to kick off a country rock tune. "One More Round" also shows her fans what a strong penchant she has for alt-country songwriting. It blends gritty vocals and classic country instrumentation with Rock 'n' Roll energy. Another great tune recently released by Amber Eyes is "Small Time Life," a tune that feels reminiscent of Jensen herself as she balances the life of a singing sensation and that of a true blue working artist. "Small Time Life" also shows a softer, more subtle side to Jensen's abundance of power and energy, as the tune starts with just her and an acoustic guitar. The song swells and retracts, then swells and retracts again showing a glimpse of what a dynamic performer Jensen is. This summer, Jillian will be performing alongside Robbins (opening) at her CD Release in Somerville. Jillian also has several appearances scheduled at Hull's HK Too in an intimate, acoustic setting. Find out more at Amber Eyes Official on Facebook. As always, this is Jay Psaros here with "The Beat," on Boston's best shore, the South Shore! Looking for more great music?
