TheSouthShoreMagazine.com with some of the world's best. Dianne's classes run Tuesdays (Laura's Center for the Arts) and Wednesdays (South Shore Conservatory). Classes are rolling admission and anyone interested is encouraged to reach to Dianne at DianneLegro@gmail.com Well, folks, there you have it! Fall musical happenings right here on The South Shore! Want to hear more? Of course you do! I highly encourage you to check out some of these fall music hangouts: Levitate Festival is bringing their fall-themed Flannel Jam to The Marshfield Fairgrounds on October 12th. Paddy Barry's in Quincy continues to host the finest of local acoustic and Irish music in a small and intimate setting Thursdays through Sunday. The Snug in Hingham has all the vibe and fall charm with music Fridays and Saturdays. The Spire in Plymouth hosts great regional and national acts weekly with a strong fall schedule. For Cohasset folks, Mr. Dooley's serves up their weekly Wednesday open mic with a rotating cast of local musical regulars. Hull has some new music spots in Nantasket Flatts while some of the strip's veterans like The C-Note continue with their weekend ticketed shows. Weymouth's The Next Page hosts excellent blues music on Thursdays with great bands of mixed variety Fridays and Saturdays. Enjoy a glass of wine at the bar in Cohasset's Atlantica to hear some of the region's finest singer/songwriters. As always, this is Jay Psaros with "The Beat" in The South Shore Magazine. Want to connect? I'd love to hear from you! Pay a visit to www.JayPsarosMusic.com or drop me a line at JayPsarosMusic@ gmail.com. Cheers! 55 takes control of the lyrical and melodic content, she was quick to boast about the musical contributions of her bandmates citing that their contributions as songwriters are equally as important to the music as the song itself may be. Lindsey and her band have created a sound that is a little bit folky and a little bit rock and roll. Seasoned with a bit of retro and served with a big side of sincerity, I'm excited to see what else Lindsey and the boys roll out in the coming months (like her upcoming single Priestess of Heartache coming out October 1st). As well as performing and writing for herself, Lindsey also hopes to write for other artists as well. Get familiar with Lindsey Buck at www.LindseyBuckMusic.com and catch her and boys live at Maggy's Lounge in Quincy on November 9th. Lastly, I'd like to talk about Dianne Legro's "American Songbook" class. Dianne Legro is an experienced and spirited Broadway veteran and vocal coach currently holding her classes at Hingham's South Shore Conservatory and Hanover's Laura's Center for the Arts. Dianne's highly praised class is an environment where her students can deepen their artistry and interpret timeless songs in their own unique way. Dianne has created a class where young adults and adults can learn vibrant new performance skills and repertoire taken from a large collection of American standards. The music world is often a strange place that can be intimidating to approach. Oftentimes, I come across many people who are interested in music but don't know how to get started or in what direction to go. For those interested in American standards from composers such as Gershwin, Cole Porter, Dorothy Fields, Rogers and Hart etc., Dianne has created an approachable port of entry amidst a friendly, supportive and enthusiastic environment. When talking to Dianne, her passion for this particular genre of music is very clear as she speaks with great excitement about her students and her methods. Dianne has been teaching for 40 years and has helped countless students take their performances from the classroom to the stage. As a contemporary Singer/Songwriter, I often find myself focused on that particular genre. I must, however, remember that it is teachers like Dianne and companies such as The South Shore Conservatory that help to make the South Shore such a vibrant musical community that stands tall Lindsey Buck Dianne Legro
