Since 1914, fishermen have been bringing in their catch to Boston Fish Pier, which was deemed a historic landmark in 2017. The Seaport area's recent transformation from an industrial wharf to a collection of restaurants, condos, skyscrapers and hotels highlights the steeped-in legacy of the pier. "We are bringing in fish in the middle of a major city, surrounded by brand-new buildings that cost $3000 per square foot," says Gennodie. Amid over 100 years of growth and technological advancements, the pier has retained its old-fashioned roots, New England work ethic and supportive camaraderie. As if Gennodie wasn't busy enough, he recently became the new owner of the renowned Chatham Pier Fish Market. Set right on the water at the elbow of Cape Cod, the market provides mouthwatering seafood as well as stunning views. Its seafront location means that lobsters sit in Atlantic Ocean water until they are cooked, making their flavor nothing short of exquisite. You can find local bluefish, scallops, black sea bass, as well as salmon from California and shrimp from Florida. The market is also a take-out restaurant where you can eat your hot-buttered lobster roll, oysters, calamari, fried clams and tuna sandwiches outside at a picnic table, watching the fishing boats come in.
