WELCOME TO THE SPRING 2021 ISSUE OF SOUTH SHORE MAGAZINE. Greetings to you all! www.TheSouthShoreMagazine.com CHECK IT OUT! See past issues and much more. 2 SSM is a Proud Member PUBLISHER'S LETTER Happy Spring! Spring is the season of new beginnings, longer days of sunlight, nature's awakening in budding plants, the return of birds and animals and new life for vegetables and flowers. There is no doubt that the last year has caused and created many changes in our everyday lives. Some are negative and some are positive, and some remain to be seen. I hope that you have personally had time to reflect upon your life and make adjustments and changes to adapt to the new reality and, hopefully, the beginning of our "post-COVID-19" era. As I have stated numerous times over the past 20-plus years of publishing The South Shore Magazine, locally owned and run businesses are the fabric of our community. Without them our region would not have the feel and unique character that it does; we would just be another homogenous suburban region with no identity. These businesses, whether retail, service, restaurant, or entertainment, are fighting for their survival and need your support EVERY DAY as they try and claw their way back to a new normal. So please think twice before making that purchase from a national chain and make all efforts to buy local. Our cover and feature article is an in-depth focus on the multi-talented artist and business owner and jack of all trades: Diana Cousineau Aveni. Diana is such an inspiration in the many talents and interests that she possesses. The names of her businesses, Hingham Furniture & Design and Framing Concepts, really don't scratch the surface with regard to how many products and services are available in their two locations in Hingham and Weymouth. Walking through her stores and warehouse are a journey of intrigue, with surprise at every turn. We are proud to showcase South Shore Therapies, who provide truly amazing speech and OT programs, support and services for their pediatric clients on the South Shore and beyond. Check out the latest from our dear friends at Road to Responsibility (RTR) and learn how this local non-profit organization is keeping their clients and staff safe through COVID-19 protocols and vaccinations, and how it is promoting social justice in new ways every day. I would like to recognize and thank Dr. Christine Hamori for her fifteen years of dedication and loyalty as a client to The South Shore Magazine. Read about the latest BPL ® skin care technology, and if you have not yet been to their beautiful state-of- the art spa and treatment center, jump on your computer or phone and book a time! New England and the South Shore have many unique foods that we call our own and that tourists clamor to try (a little bad pun there). South Shore bar pizza has had a massive surge in popularity primarily due to a Facebook South Shore bar pizza social club. One of the original top favorites is Cape Cod Cafe Pizza: find their pizza right in your backyard at their four locations, as well as in the frozen food aisle at major grocery stores. Learn about the history and future of this local legend. A huge shout-out of thanks and gratitude to all of our regular and new advertising clients: George Washington Toma, The Rug Merchant, Tsangs Village Cafe, South Shore Health Systems, Hingham Furniture & Design, Dr. Christine Hamori, Goodale Insurance, Seascape Weymouth, Alice Pierce Realtor, NVNA, RTR, Murphy Insurance, Greenside Grille, Montilio's, Pearl Dental, Rocky Neck Fish Markets, Auto Spa, Gentle Aesthetics, Weston Nurseries, First Citizens Credit Union, South Shore Therapies, Cape Cod Cafe Pizza and Rita Fucillo. And a big thank you to our readers! HAPPY SPRING! PUBLISHER Stanley Blackmur ASSOCIATE PUBLISHERS Mary Ann Blackmur Kevin & Caleb Blackmur ART DIRECTOR & GRAPHIC DESIGNER Christine E.
