20 quality of life. It will be among the most energy-efficient senior developments constructed on the South Shore. This development is also mixed use, with new commercial space on the first floor. New developments are in the works that will create additional housing and small business opportunities much like this one. NHS has over 400 units in its current pipeline for development. PARTNERSHIPS NHS is built on the power of partnerships. Both public and private partnerships have been the key to the success of its mission and work for decades. Local government, residents and businesses combined with federal, state and private support continue to make all of this work possible. NHS believes that working together to establish local housing priorities is the best way to attract the resources necessary to change lives. SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Funding from state and federal programs cover basic programming and service delivery costs, but flexible funding from corporate and private donations help the programs meet the diverse needs of individual clients. There are several ways for people in the community to get involved and support NHS. Every year, NHS hosts two signature events. In the spring, they hold their annual Mulligan Golf Tournament, a "second chance for Veterans", which provides for resources and assistance to veterans and their families. This year the tournament will be held at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton on Friday, June 10. To purchase a sponsorship or foursome, visit www.nhsmass.org/ mulligan. This fall, on November 3, NHS will host their newly rebranded Opening Doors Changing Lives Gala at Granite Links in Quincy. The gala will raise resources to support the broad array of programs at NHS and features a cocktail reception, interactive games, a silent auction, dinner and compelling programs. Sponsorships are available and tickets will go on sale this summer. For more information about this fun event, visit to www.nhsmass.org/gala. COMMUNITY INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT PROGRAM NHS is part of the state of Massachusetts' Community Investment Tax Credit program. This program is open to select Community Development Corporations (CDCs), including NHS, and provides donors with a 50% state tax credit on any donation of $1,000 or more made to NHS and other select CDCs. This tax credit opportunity is open to any individual, business or non-profit organization who makes a cumulative donation of $1000 or more in a calendar year to NHS. This is a tax credit, which means the tax savings go right back to the donor. "This is a tremendous opportunity for any donor who wants to support organizations like NHS," said Serenity Belo, Director of Resource Development at NHS. "This is a program that directly benefits donors and NHS, and helps to expand the resources generously donated by our community." To learn more about the Community Investment Tax Credit Program or to make a donation, visit nhsmass.org/donate, or email Serenity Belo at sbelo@nhsmass.org ACCESS RESOURCES OR GET INVOLVED With locations in Quincy, Brockton, Taunton, Kingston and New Bedford, NHS is positioned to provide assistance to citizens all along the South Shore and South Coast.
