37 TheSouthShoreMagazine.com Today's employment market is saturated with options for finding the "right fit." Online platforms promise to guide you to your dream job, providing the desired end to match your exact skill set. Just fill out the form, plug in your information and wham! Hired. In actuality, the success of a candidate weighs heavily in favor of the lost art of human contact. South Shore Staffing is the finger on the pulse for those seeking employment, as well as those looking for the next level candidate. South Shore Staffing was founded in 2004, and Lisa Corrigan has been at the helm since 2021—and business is booming! In 2019, a chance dinner, followed by a meeting between Corrigan and prior owner Linda McDaid resulted in purchase negotiations, an offer, and a deal. On January 1, 2021, the stars aligned and Corrigan excitedly launched into her new position as President and Chief Executive Officer. To describe Corrigan as passionate about her clients and candidates is an understatement. She states that,"recruiting means more than just 'finding a job'...we help people pay their mortgage; we help their family." Her mission is to be the true matchmaker who guides the hiring manager and the job seeker towards each other in order to produce a mutually beneficial relationship. The personal relationship of the recruiter is pivotal to the success of the match, regardless of which role you play. A recruiter has the opportunity to engage with the candidates and understand their true potential. The key to success is through software testing, interpersonal interaction, history review and face to face discussion. A dynamic leader, Corrigan pushed through, arguably, the most difficult period in recent history. With massive amounts of the workforce shifting either to retirement or remote, Corrigan took on South Shore Staffing. Honoring the original mission of founder Ed McDaid and past president, Linda McDaid, Corrigan keeps a strictly South Shore demographic on both sides of the table. Believing in the value of loyalty and the ultimate universe
