Perched at the Hingham Shipyard waterfront, The Beth brings light and levity to the culinary experience of every guest. The unique aesthetic goes beyond the typical coastal atmosphere, blending history with present day while keeping eyes on the horizon. The enormous horseshoe driftwood bar with upwards of 20 beers on draft, extensive wine list and any number of fun, fancy cocktails to raise a toast await your arrival. This fantastic addition to the scene on the South Shore is more than gladly welcomed. Whatever vibe you're reaching for, you are sure to find it at The Beth: classy and casual, elevated whilst wholly attainable. Come as you are, with friends or with family. Share stories and laughter underneath the rope string lights, or lounge in the high-backed semi circled booths while watching the boats make their way across the water. A dedicated workforce and company family led to the carefully curated nostalgia of this historic location with two of the latest generation O'Connor clan members at the helm. For more than three decades, Austin M. O'Connor and his wife, Mary, have called Hingham home and raised their five children here, instilling in each of them a fundamental foundation: family, friends and fare. Owner Austin readily admits how "devastating the pandemic was for the hospitality business. Our employees' commitment to the Briar Group and passion for hospitality are the reasons why we had the opportunity to open The Beth." Tapping into her experience within the Boston scene, knowledge of the South Shore dining options coupled with her sales and marketing skills, the eldest of the O'Connor five, Carlie (Pardini) has returned east to her familial roots in Hingham, helping to build and evolve the concept for The Beth. After cutting her teeth in the wine industry on the west coast, she is delighted to work side by side with her brother, Austin. The Hingham hometown factor rounds out the eager anticipation of the suburban expansion. Their father is likewise "excited to work with them to continue to grow the business." The fourteenth location of the Briar Group is led by Ireland native Des Sherry as General Manager. The team at The Beth runs a tight ship, intent on extending to every guest the feeling of being connected while taking their culinary senses to the next level. Attention to detail is seen everywhere: from floor to ceiling, expediter to Executive Chef Jim Fargo; from draft to cocktail, appetizer to main. Whether the draw is the waterfront, the spacious outdoor patio seating, watching the game at the bar, hosting a celebratory dinner in one of the two private dining rooms (whether for 15 or for 80 of your closest friends and family), Pardini believes there is something for everyone at The Beth. Friendly greetings and an array of options present themselves with ease. The artist of the menu, Chef Jim, brings decades of experience onto the line at The Beth. Accumulating cooking knowledge from the shores and mountains of New England, his philosophy aims to integrate local cuisine ideas and spin it anew.
