The moment you walk through the doors at Sahagian Jewelers, you are awestruck by the beautiful jewelry and geodes on display, but it's the welcoming environment and personalized level of service that sets the Sahagian experience apart from other retailers. Hanover native Linda Sahagian learned from a young age that with hard work and integrity, you can build something truly special -- she watched her mother Peggy do exactly that. Beginning in middle school, Linda and her sister Susan spent every weekend at flea markets with Peggy, selling leather keepsakes and sterling silver jewelry they purchased on monthly trips to Mexico. As these goods grew in popularity, the trio broadened their operation, their table becoming a fixture at flea markets and fairs all around New England. As business grew, Peggy expanded their inventory to include gold, platinum, diamonds and other precious stones. After her husband's passing in 1982, Peggy was a newly single mom. Her network and reputation had grown significantly enough that she knew it was time to turn her passion into a reality, and that same year, she opened Sahagian Jewelers at Queen Anne's Corner in Norwell. Since then, the family-owned and operated business has become a household name for generations of local patrons. While the store was still in its infancy, Peggy attended the North Bennet Street School in Boston to learn jewelry fabrication. It was there that she met a fellow student named Craig, and the two formed an instant friendship. Since 1988, Craig has been Sahagian's in-house goldsmith. To this day, design, restoration and repair work is done on-site by the masterfully skilled hands of Craig and Linda. For years, Linda and Peggy traveled all around the United States and Europe seeking unusual precious stones, unique designs and one-of-a-kind pieces, a practice Linda continues today. Whether you are searching for the perfect engagement ring, a unique piece of jewelry for a special occasion or simply treating yourself, there is something for everyone, spanning every price point at Sahagian's. After 37 years working side-by-side, Peggy passed away in 2019. Since then, Linda has been at the helm, carrying on her mother's FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS Sahagian Jewelers Celebrates 41 Years Written by Robin Young, photography by Lucie Wicker S E 2014 S E 2014 26
