South Shore YMCA has long been under the guidance and stewardship of CEO Paul Gorman. After a long tenure at the Y, Paul has been transitioning to retirement the last few years all the while working closely with his successor Trevor Williams. Thank you to Paul for his many years of service with the Y, serving the needs of the communities of the South Shore. His legacy will not soon be forgotten. In closing, thank you to all of our advertisers and clients. I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to George Toma of George Washington Toma TV and Appliance for advertising with South Shore Magazine for more than 25 years!!! As always, thanks to our readers for supporting the many locally owned businesses and organizations that make up the fabric of our region. Without your support we would live in a much different place. Remember to tell our clients "I saw you in South Shore Magazine!" Autumn is a time of change, transition and renewal. A time to reflect upon the past months as we transition into winter. This all follows the symbolism of falling leaves and the transition of nature into temporary dormancy. Our feature article is about SAIL Home in Scituate. I am very proud to have become a member of the board of directors for this exciting new venture. SAIL stands for supported access to independent living. We hope to expand the Scituate concept into other South Shore communities and beyond. The mission of SAIL Home Scituate is to create supported housing models for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) or autism, so they can live, work and socialize in an inclusive community. In our 'House & Home' section, Jack Conway Realtors provides insight into how Millennials and Gen Z are reshaping the real estate market and buying processes. Autumn also marks the beginning of the comfort of fire in our fireplaces at home. Whether you are a traditionalist and enjoy wood burning fires or love the convenience and neatness of a gas or propane fireplace insert or stove, Mike Mazzini and the folks at The Fireplace Store in Marshfield will H A P P Y A U T U M N ! 2025
