47 - Jay Psaros for "The Beat" "THE BEAT" The Aldous Collins Band Greetings music lovers! Jay Psaros here with the very first publication of "The Beat," the South Shore Magazine's music column. I'd first like to take a moment to introduce myself. I'm a singer/songwriter, producer, and owner of a record label called PB and Jay Records based right here on Boston's best shore, the South Shore. I've been in the music industry for nearly a decade and have shared some amazing experiences with some amazing people along the way. On any given weekend you can find me playing local pubs, clubs and restaurants all over the South Shore as well as throughout New England. You can learn more about me by visiting my website www.JayPsarosMusic.com. But enough about me, let's talk about the music scene here on the South Shore. When I think about the music scene here I'm always amazed at the amount of talent nestled humbly south of Boston as well as the amount of venues that support our local music community. How do you begin to write about a scene so diverse with so many notable people and places? I'm hoping to learn more as I go along but I'd like to start with some "shout outs." These are just a few of the people and places that I believe make the music scene here on the South Shore what it is. So let it begin. "The Beat," Volume 1, the "shout out" volume. Let's get a shout out for some of the area's hardest working bands and musicians playing night after night who make the bars and pubs what they are so you can have a great night after work or a fun filled weekend. The Aldous Collins Band, recently nominated for a New England Music Award, these guys are on fire lately. Aldous brings infectious energy to his friends and followers wherever he goes. With an all-star lineup of players including local guitar legend Mike Rahman, Aldous always brings a good time. Check him out every Wednesday at The BBC in Pembroke and visit him at Fil Pacino TheSouthShoreMagazine.com
