24 The snow has finally thawed and here at Road To Responsibility Inc., we are proudly into our 26th year of serving those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Like a freshly manicured lawn or garden, RTR is always putting in tireless work toward our mission of "Making Lives Better." Many hear this mission and think it's just a slogan, but if you were to come to any of the 45 locations throughout the South Shore area you would see that it's a way of life for both our employees and the individuals we serve on a daily basis. Like many issues going on in the world today, the world of RTR is constantly changing and evolving to better suit the challenges we face. The origins of our organization may have started small but today through our three core service sectors we are up to the task in providing the most meaningful life for each individual we serve. These core services consist of Residential, Employment Services, and Day Habilitation. Each department has a broad range of services but all have a single goal of giving an individualized experience to all that participate in these programs. This individualized experience is gaining momentum and RTR has been gathering the support of the communities where our programs and individuals call home. This momentum is specifically helping us serve one of our important goals for the individuals we serve. It has always been a priority to have a direct involvement in the community and we are seeing more and more of this involvement throughout the areas we are located. One of the ways this goal can be met is by finding meaningful employment, and our Job Placement and Community Based Employment department have been working diligently to place our individuals in jobs throughout the community. Many would be surprised with the work our individuals excel at, and we are happy to partner with all local business to see the impact these jobs are having in people's lives.
