30 In 2011, the very first of the baby boom generation turned 65. It is estimated that for the next 15 years, 10,000 people a day will also reach this milestone (Pew Research). Unlike their parents' generation, today's boomers are not content to just stay on the sidelines. Health conscious and active in ways that seemed unthinkable not long ago, modern day seniors are redefining what it means to grow old gracefully. Just look around a gym and it is evident that there is a changing face to aging. The key to remaining active and engaged is taking care of one's body and practicing good health habits. Finding capable health care providers attuned to the needs of this large population is essential.
