Best Automotive, which is best known on the South Shore for its award-winning Chevrolet store in Hingham, has recently opened a Best Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Plymouth - including a reliable line up of 4x4 vehicles. This is great news for outdoor enthusiasts and New Englanders battling the record- breaking snowfall this year! The new dealership, which is currently open and located at 264 Cherry Street right off of Exit 8 on Route 3 South in Plymouth, includes new and used vehicles and a service center that maintains and repairs all makes and models of cars and trucks. The dealership will eventually move to the Colony Place complex in Plymouth, after a two year build-out, into a state-of-the-art building in the previous Sam's Club location. Owner Scott Shulman believes the new Plymouth location will excel in offering outstanding vehicles and customer service, a tradition that began almost six decades ago. "For 58 years our Best staff has been perfecting the business of 'service with a smile' at our Hingham location," says Shulman. Today, Best Automotive, Inc. is the parent company of both dealerships, and is managed by a third generation - son Ben Shulman and son- in-law Adam Pugh. Scott Shulman is the guiding hand and recalled his start in the family business. He went to Hingham High School, was a promising athlete, and graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in communications. "My father has a proud history in the automotive industry so he called me back home to help him grow his dealership. I started at the bottom, washing cars, filing paperwork and eventually, worked in sales and service." At that time a bad perception of auto sales bothered the younger Shulman and he was determined to overcome public negativity. Today Best Chevrolet's secret to success lies with Disney, but it's not about Mouseketeers. It's about a mindset: "Make the customer happy no matter what."
