30 In 2011, the very first of the baby boom generation turned 65. It is estimated that for the next 15 years, 10,000 people a day will also reach this milestone (Pew Research). Unlike their parents' generation, today's boomers are not content to just stay on the sidelines. Health conscious and active in ways that seemed unthinkable not long ago, modern day seniors are redefining what it means to grow old gracefully. Just look around a gym and it is evident that there is a changing face to aging. The key to remaining active and engaged is taking care of one's body and practicing good health habits. Finding capable health care providers attuned to the needs of this large population is essential. Dr. Stephen Matarazzo, a Quincy based dentist, is a highly skilled professional who makes sure an aging smile is a thing of the past. In practice since 1978, Dr. Matarazzo always knew he wanted to be a dentist. After getting his undergraduate degree from Boston College, Dr. Matarazzo went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dentistry. I studied with Dr. Stephen Buchanan, the preeminent leader in the field of endodontics, for advanced root canal techniques. I am also one of only three dentists in Massachusetts who has certifications in two types of dentures: the Geneva 2000 Swissdent full dentures and Strickland Facelift Dentures." Dr. Matarazzo provides comprehensive dental care for all age ranges. However, he has extensive training in rehabilitative dentistry, or what he refers to as "big problem dentistry."
