23 The studio evolved into Framing Concepts, where she offered custom framing services for clients in addition to selling her own art. She opened her second location in Hingham in 2009. Two years later, she decided to close the Plymouth location and focus on the Hingham store, because "I live here, I love the downtown area, and I believe in keeping the charm of the downtown business district." Framing Concepts offers more than custom framing. Clients know that they will receive exceptional customer service from Diana and her team, beginning with a free consultation. Once artwork is framed, it is delivered and installed at no additional charge. Framing Concepts is one of the few stores of its kind in the area who offer free custom hanging. In addition, the work of local artists is displayed for sale throughout the store. Aveni has developed such close relationships with her customers over the years that she was often asked to consult on any aesthetic issue from choosing fine art for their homes to home design. When the building at 44 North St. became available, Diana knew it was the perfect opportunity to take the next step. Framing Concepts will still be her fine art and custom framing store, but as a designer and member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the increasing need for her design services required more space. Hingham Furniture and Design, she said, is "pretty much what I already do at Framing Concepts with full- service design, but in a new, distinct space." She added, "With this new store, I can now give my clients better pricing on high quality products." The new store manager, Eri, is also a designer. She previously managed Company C at the Derby Street Shoppes, and is excited to reconnect with her previous clients, in addition to meeting new ones! Clients will be able to come in and sit at a rustic table where computers are set up for them to browse for inspiration or look through catalogs. Or they may go walk through the room vignettes, or talk over ideas with Diana or a member of her experienced staff. Every resource from both businesses will be available to every customer. Aveni believes in serving the customer above all. "We go above and beyond. I love what I do. If I didn't go above and beyond, I wouldn't be giving my clients my best effort." The key for Diana Cousineau Aveni is the art of creating: when a piece of art is created and framed, personal history is preserved.
