33 TheSouthShoreMagazine.com 30-year survivor herself, it was Dr. Pizzi's wife who inspired that idea, to the point where the team and patients will sign up in the office and all take a bus into the Walk for Breast Cancer in Boston. Since they started helping this great cause, Artistic Dentistry of Hanover has raised more than $125,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness. Plus, if you attended Hanover Day this past June and took part in having fun in a jumpy house, you can thank Artistic Dentistry of Hanover, as they were the ones who funded them for the festivities. Having worked with Dr. Pizzi for 40 years, you would safely assume that Dr. Donelan would share philosophies with his great friend and colleague. Now referred to as the Dominican Republic Mission Team, Dr. Donelan has been visiting the D.R. for nine years now to help restore smiles to a struggling area. "It is very rewarding," says Donelan. "We are down there for eight days in difficult conditions, with so many buildings having no plumbing or electricity. But getting to see the smiling faces at the end of the mission is incredible." As Dr. Pizzi said, "Dr. Donelan would give you the shirt off of his back." In addition to visiting and restoring smiles, they also send down dental supplies to the region as often as possible. It is abundantly clear that customer service is of the ultimate importance to everyone at Artistic Dentistry of Hanover. As their mission statement explains, Dr. Kevin, Dr. Pizzi and Dr. Donelan are dedicated to creating lifelong healthy smiles for you and your family with the care and concern that they give their own families. Thanks to the hard work of everyone involved, including all of the newest technology constantly being introduced by Dr. Kevin, Artistic Dentistry of Hanover can proudly handle all of your dental needs. Since purchasing the practice in 2000, Dr. Kevin has worked hard to introduce new technology, including 3D Planscan technology, which enables them to make a crown in a single day and eliminate the need for an impression. He has also brought in Invisalign adult and teen orthodontics, which are clear braces; Zoom in-office whitening, which allows for teeth whitening in just one hour; digital x-ray capabilities with less radiation to the patients and the use of digital cameras that allow the team to better examine their patients' mouths. This all leads to quicker dentistry, featuring less time in the chair, as well as better restoration, all while allowing the final restoration taking place by the end of their patients' appointments. Add in the fact that the doctors and team attend many hours of continuing education, and it is easy to see why Artistic Dentistry of Hanover remains on the cutting edge of modern dentistry. In terms of where the business's name originated, Dr. Pizzi said that a friend of his came up with the name, as he and his team are "very artistic," and that they "create smiles." Not only do they create smiles, but they create a fun, positive, friendly and laid back atmosphere. Averaging nearly 70 new patients per month, it is easy to see why Artistic Dentistry of Hanover has no problem keeping employees happy for over four decades. Mary Rangel, who has worked for the office for 30 years, says that she "absolutely loves" her job. "I love our patients and just love being here," she says. "It is not like work at all to me. It really is family-oriented." Rangel even goes to pick up some patients who have difficulty getting themselves to the dentist, and is another member of the team who enjoys giving back. Dr. Kevin said that is it "so special seeing such great teamwork. It really is like a family. It is just a great group. We plan so many things and have so much fun. Our patients are extremely loyal, as so many of them have been coming here since the late 60's." Kristen Balch, who is 'new' to the team with just over 15 years of experience, said that the entire team is so "family focused." She added that the environment allows everyone to "work in great harmony," and help them "deliver a high quality of care." If you are looking for a practice where the doctors' respect for their patients carries over to their team as well, make sure to call Artistic Dentistry of Hanover to schedule an appointment. As they will tell you, and it is easy to see, the interaction between their team affects the whole climate of their practice, as they all consider themselves family. Their patients come first and are treated like family.
