launch, the BoltDepot.com website was continuously updated with new features and additional products. As the web sales exceeded all expectations, it became necessary to close the old hardware store in 2005. At that point, Cazeault admitted that "Closing the hardware store was bittersweet. It was a huge part of my life since childhood, but Bolt Depot was an exciting new endeavor that was taking off." While the business has always been very family- oriented, Cazeault said that the new location at 100 Research Road in the South Shore Industrial Park in Hingham is "even more relaxed and quiet," and that is despite the fact that the new location is approximately three times the size of the old hardware store. Cazeault also pointed out that Bolt Depot really does not have to sell customers on the products. "A customer is only buying these types of products based upon need. Because of that fact, we are allowed to strictly focus on the website and customer service and our great employees." Bolt Depot's team worked tirelessly through the summer, running the original location with minimal staff while others worked overtime setting up and stocking the new warehouse. The move was a great undertaking initiated and overseen by Gary Cazeault, General Manager. Gary's efforts to optimize space paired with his strong project management skills kept the project on track. "We really counted on our employees to make this happen," said Gary of his staff. "I knew that they would commit to making it a smooth transition, and they did not disappoint. They went above and beyond." "Everyone here knows how important it is to keep all of our employees happy, above and beyond everything else," says Michelle Perry, Director of Accounting and Human Resources. "When that happens, the employees want to give back to the company the same way that the company has given to all of us. When we were making the move, a ton of thoughtful planning went into this, and we really think that it shows." I can certainly vouch for that as well. Having toured the Bolt Depot facility, everything is run in an extremely efficient and immaculate manner.
