22 community in the wake of the van fires. We are very close to our goal of raising $80,000 to cover the cost of the vans. This major expense was not in our budget, but your support has been tremendous. We are now moving forward and preparing for our upcoming Making Lives Better Gala, which is scheduled for Friday, September 22 at 6pm at the Boston Marriott Quincy. We want to personally invite everyone to join us this year. Demand for our services continues to increase, and we need help to make sure that we can continue to provide a home, a job, therapeutic services and a community for more than 1,000 people we currently serve, and those we will be serving in the coming years. Proceeds from this year's event will help to provide: • Access to meaningful employment through our employment program. • Supportive services for our individuals in our 47 homes, including our newest home in Kingston. • Replacement equipment at our therapy sites, including walkers, standers, patient lifts (which are not covered by health insurance) and so much more! This year's gala will feature a cocktail reception with business and civic leaders, one of a kind live and silent auction items, fine wine and a delicious dinner. Please join us as we celebrate the more than 1,000 individuals we serve daily. We want to recognize all of the businesses and people who support our gala. Please contact Serenity Belo at sbelo@rtrinc.org or 781-536-4509 to support the gala. RTR is extremely grateful for the support we receive from the community!
