Advancements in the world of aesthetics have made it easier to have non-invasive treatments fit into your busy schedule, with no surgery and little-to-no downtime. Every year, more and more men are coming in for cosmetic procedures to gain a more fresh and youthful appearance. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) reported a 325% increase in the number of procedures performed on men since they began tracking these statistics in 1997. Men had over 1.2 million aesthetic surgical and non-surgical procedures performed in 2016. When it comes to subtle facial enhancements, many men are turning to non-surgical options such as Botox ® (453,281 treatments performed on men in 2016, which is up 9.9%) and injectable fillers. There are also now other options that offer the same minimal downtime as fillers, yet with maximum results. We are excited to announce that Dr. Christine Hamori will now offer Silhouette Instalift ™ . A fantastic alternative to a facelift, the Instalift ™ utilizes sutures to lift deep layers of the skin in a minimally invasive way. The sutures have bidirectional cones to reposition and elevate skin of the face. An October 2016 survey conducted by the University of California's Department of Dermatology found that the area of greatest concern for men is the area around the eyes. Men stated that they felt that their eyes gave away their age. This area is commonly treated with injectables, but for a more long term solution, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) may be the best choice. In 2016, the number of men in the U.S. who underwent eyelid surgery rose to 28,025, which is a 16.1% increase from 2015. This procedure done on the upper or lower eyelids, helps men who struggle with drooping, which can obstruct vision and cause an overall tired look. Results are natural, and recovery from this sort of surgery is quick, with most people returning to work after four-to-seven days. If you're struggling with a double chin due to excess weight or genetic predisposition, Dr. Hamori has three of the greatest non-surgical options out there for tightening and reducing fat. Coolsculpting ® , Ultherapy ® and Kybella ™ may be the answer. Coolsculpting ®, or an injectable such as Kybella ™ effectively eliminates fat under the chin. If fat isn't your primary concern, but rather lax skin, Ultherapy ® 's ultrasound technology offers proven results without needles or surgery and offers results that last up to three years. In the past year, non-invasive fat reduction procedures have grown in popularity in the past year among men by 12.5% according to ASAPS (21,234 were performed on men in 2016), as they are realizing the safety and efficacy of these procedures. by Kate Myette 30 A more fresh and youthful appearance? NOT JUST FOR WOMEN!
