Spring is here, so it's time to put away the winter jackets and trade out your snow shovel for the gardening tools. Here at Kappy's Fine Wine & Spirits, we are doing our version of the same seasonal swap, which means lots of fun events, and some exciting additions to the store. Here's a peek... In our opinion, nothing in the wine world says, "Good-bye cold days and hello warm weather," like dry Rosés. This category of wine has exploded in recent years, to the point where it is enjoyed all year long. Spring and summer, however, are its natural home. There is no better picnic wine or poolside companion (we'll be there soon enough!) than a crisp, fresh Rosé. The pale pinks of Provence have led the way in the dry Rosé renaissance, but these days, there are a plethora of choices out there to try. Some of our favorites are the Pinot Noir-based Rosés of Sancerre and Oregon, Tuscany's Sangiovese-based bottlings, Spain's bright, juicy versions, the deeper Cabernet Sauvignon Rosés found anywhere from South Africa to the Napa Valley and many, many more. We'll be stocking dozens of different Rosés this spring. Many of them have already arrived and are ready to go home with their fans. If you're new to this category, let us help you choose a couple to try. We're sure that you'll see why these wines are so popular. Wine won't be getting all of the glory this spring. The popularity and success of our weekend wine tasting tables has prompted us to add a table dedicated to spirits tastings every Friday and Saturday. Specialty brands that you can find only at Kappy's will be featured alongside some of our favorite national brands. This provides a great opportunity to sample some products that might end up becoming your new favorite base for a Martini, Manhattan or Margarita, as well as some of the lively, fresh cocktails that simply sing spring. And we can't leave beer out of the equation, as there's excitement in that department as well. We continue to make renovations in the store and have just added some additional room to our already expanded "Beer Alley" section. The best beer selection on the South Shore is now primed to get even better. A host of new IPAs, Lagers, Saisons and Sours have started filling our shelves just in by Joe Selby Kappy's is Bringing the HEAT 38
