39 night music hang at Weymouth's Barrel House Z, which features one local artist each week and highlights their original work. Watching the Joneses perform is a treat. On guitar, Jeff does an excellent job at supporting Heather's "go anywhere" vocals, often chiming in with his own voice to compliment Heather's singing. Heather does a great job at supporting Jeff's guitar playing, often adding tasteful percussion to the mix. It's easy to see why musicians and venues alike are glad to have the Joneses as their neighbors. Catch The Joneses at www.JonesesMusic.com. Lastly, I'd like to visit friend and journeyman Jason Dick. Jason, the founder of the former High Hopes Band has undergone some changes over the past couple of years. After going through some adverse situations, Jason has endured and is rising to the top quickly in the Boston Reggae community. Over the past year or so, Jason has been working hard to rebuild and rebrand his music under the name JSN (which stands for Just Stay Nice). Figuring out a new direction for any artist is an immense challenge, and the JSN frontman has managed the task with grace and integrity. Boasting an all-star trio of members from The Void Union and West Bound Train, Jason has created a group filled with a heavy conscious vibe and a buoyant roots backbone. Frequently inviting guests to sit in with the trio, such as legendary producer/arranger instrumentalist Paul Santo, Jason has been snagging some great gigs. This past summer he has been a frequent guest at venues such as Brighton Music Hall and Surf Side Salisbury, and he has maintained his welcomed presence at local haunts such as The Red Parrot and The Next Page. A busy man who always has something in the works, we can expect to see Jason putting out a variety of material in the coming months. For those looking for quality Reggae, check out JSN. They are sure to keep the vibe right! www.JSNGroove.com Can't get enough local music? Check out the following spots where you're sure to see the best of what's around.
