23 TheSouthShoreMagazine.com FATHER BILL'S & MAINSPRING FY2017 OUTCOMES: 6,653 PEOPLE SERVED IN 41 CITIES & TOWNS homelsns evention housing shelt & basic needs · FBMS diverted 341 families from having to enter shelter · 96% of households assisted by the Tenancy Preservation Program remained housed · FBMS managed 472 permanent, supportive housing units across Southern Massachusetts (total has grown to approximately 500 units in FY18) · 330 households moved from homelessness to housing · 2,713 people (adults and children) were sheltered · 217,230 meals were served to community members in need, mainly through volunteer power INDIVIDUALS FAMILIES · Sheltered 1,904 individuals total, averaging 224 individuals per night · Individual shelter stays of 6 months or more decreased by 12% · 375 individuals exited shelter to housing or other systems of care · 190 individuals sheltered were veterans, 209 individuals were 60 or older, and 133 individuals were young adults (18-24) · 254 families were sheltered, including 430 children, averaging 134 families per night · 73 families ended their homelessness and moved into housing 346 PEOPLE SECURED JOBS 82 VETERANS SERVED BY FBMS IN FY17
