The River Happy 2018!!!! It's hard to believe that 2017 is now in the rear view mirror. It was an exciting and tumultuous year to say the least. From 28-3 to 34-28, the patriots making the biggest comeback in Super Bowl History was certainly one of my favorite moments. January 2018 marks the beginning of year 18 for South Shore Magazine. Thanks to our readers visiting and doing business with our clients, we are able to continue our voyage in bringing you this quality publication each quarter. I would also like to thank my family and friends for their help, support and encouragement in running this business. I would like to give the highest praise to my wife, Mary ann, and my sons, Kevin and Caleb, for their support; and Christine Orr for her continued support, dedication and extraordinary art design for the magazine's look and feel. Many thanks as well to our wonderful editor, Erica Ford, and our writers, photographers and support associates. This issue's front cover and feature is all about South Shore Health System: South Shore Hospital is adding a new Critical Care Unit and launching one of the largest capital campaigns in the hospital's history. We are so fortunate to have such a high quality health system in our area that is always providing wonderful health care while utilizing the most advanced technologies, and employing some of the finest physicians in their fields. please consider a contribution to the capital campaign for the future vision of South Shore Health System. In our Community section, we are featuring RTR (Road to Responsibility) and Father Bill's/Mainspring. These two wonderful non-profits provide incredible services to the special needs community and to the homeless population here on the South Shore. I cannot shower enough praise on the dedication and hard work that these organizations do for the people of these communities. Thinking of getting away from it all? Most of us are! How about some lakefront living? Check out our article on this topic and contact Scott Freerksen about finding your lakefront dream home. Need a bit of holiday humor? Check out Erica Ford's hilarious article and Jay psaros lets you know what's going on in the local music scene in his latest edition of THE BEaT! again, I hope you enjoy this issue and pLEaSE let the businesses in the article and ads know how much you enjoy South Shore Magazine.
