11 Corporate volunteering has become a popular way to support RTR. Last year, 10 groups volunteered at RTR sites. At homes in Norwell and Hanover, more than 20 employees from ImageTech, a consulting and business technology company, spent the day clearing out brush, leaves and weeds and creating an inviting space. In Pembroke, employees from Twin Rivers Technologies, a technology company based in Quincy, spent a day setting up vegetable gardens, staining a deck and providing a much-needed spring-time clean-up. The volunteers made the vegetable beds high and wide enough for people in wheelchairs to have access. It was such a hit that gardens are now house managers' number one item on their request lists. RTR is always looking for dedicated people to join their team. They offer great benefits, as well as opportunities for educational advancement. In addition to a generous tuition reimbursement program, they have also created strategic relationships with Southern New Hampshire University, Endicott College and some local community colleges. If you or someone you know is interested, you can find employment postings on RTR's Facebook page and in the employment section of their website: roadtoresponsibility.org. Recently, RTR opened a new office in Norwell. This location houses administrative offices and a day habilitation site, and also offers space for staff trainings and community programs like information sessions, meetings and educational forums. If you are in the Longwater Drive area, look for RTR's sign. You are always welcome to come in for a tour. RTR offers care and services to special needs adults and is a leader and advocate in our community. Congratulations, RTR, on 30 years of celebrating the unique strengths of individuals, supporting families and enriching lives.
