1 22 In four short years, MASS Architect, LLC has become a booming architectural practice that delivers personalized design and consistent client collaboration. CEO, Nicholas Paolucci, AIA, created MASS Architect, LLC with the goal of streamlining the process of turning dream-home visions into reality. Clients are thrilled with MASS Architect, LLC and the business has taken off. Paolucci's implementation of a design-build strategy for his custom homes, additions and renovations allows for any aesthetic style, on-target results and competitive turnaround times: "I include the builder during my design process. This allows the clients, the builder and I to be on the same page with regard to budget, feasibility and schedule." Once ground has been broken, Paolucci is still available. "I don't hand a drawing over to a builder and consider it done. My phone is always on during construction and I check in to make sure the home is built according to plan." MASS Architect, LLC makes the progression from concept to completion as simple as possible. Paolucci first comes to a client's home for a free consultation to discuss ideas. Within a day, Paolucci comes up with a cost estimate that outlines the architectural fee and time required for drawing the custom home, addition or renovation. The proposal also takes into account the construction budget and approximate square footage. When his clients are unable to meet in person, he relies on video conferencing, phone calls and emails to create plans to his clients' exact wishes and specifications. "I am considerate of my clients' needs and schedules, and I find that they appreciate my responsive and flexible style." Once the design is finalized, he passes the plans onto his structural engineer and 3D rendering artist. "It's a quick and efficient process," says Paolucci. Before creating MASS Architect, LLC, Paolucci completed an internship in Rhode Island, worked for three years at a downtown Boston architectural practice and spent two years specializing in historic restoration at another firm. You can see Paolucci's diverse creativity in his portfolio, which includes a modern, hilltop home in Quincy with a low-sloped roof and plenty of windows for the view of Marina Bay; a stunning gambrel home in Wayland complete with a wine cellar and home theatre; and a waterfront Narragansett home with a third floor master suite including a lookout tower. In addition to custom homes that achieve an innovative balance that pleases the eye, Paolucci excels at renovations and additions. "When designing additions, I analyze the existing house and incorporate elements of the home into the new space. The result is a completely integrated addition that blends well with the original structure." Innovation that Redefines the Way Dream Homes Come to Life MASS ARCHITECT, LLC: By Erica Ford
