24 Written by Robin Young Photography by Coutrney Mandeville Knock Down the Obstacles that Impede Your Child's Potential When it comes to ensuring children with special needs receive the care and attention they need, no parent should feel lost or helpless. That is why founder Adam Tiro started South Shore Special Education Services, a private organization providing advocacy services to area families and bridging the gap between the public school system and children with special needs. While studying at Berklee College of Music, Adam was moved by the profound success of music therapy in special education, inspiring him to explore the field. For years after, Adam worked in a variety of demanding behavioral and therapeutic settings, supporting children with a variety of complex needs as a Special Education Teacher and Special Education Team Chair. Additionally, he spent years working with school districts, coordinating the launch and development of a variety of critical programs. His wide range of experience provides him with a unique lens and a deep understanding of students' rights and the responsibilities of the school districts to those children. After years of working in schools, he saw there was an immense need for family support as they navigate their child's individualized education program (IEP). Adam has in-depth knowledge of the responsibilities and capabilities of both educators and administrators.
