52 Initially opened in July, 2010, Alden Park quickly developed its own unique style, atmosphere and food offering of Modern American cuisine in the Plymouth area. With an extensive background in the culinary field, Owner-Operator Walt Wunder opted to take things a step further. Working off of his impressive location in the Colony Place Mall, Wunder decided to add to his repertoire by creating a 40 foot mobile food trailer. This ingenuity presented him with the opportunity to best serve his loyal customers by providing them off-site service, whether it is for corporate functions, weddings, family reunions or any other sort of party. On top of that, you can find Alden Park-ed around concerts and events, including events held at the Xfinity Center and near Gillette Stadium. In short, don't worry if you can't always make it to them. Alden Park-ed can most certainly make it to you! "The main feature of the catering trailer was to highlight the ability we have to bring the kitchen to you," says Wunder. "We know that there are many function halls with small or limited kitchens, as well as destination locations for events (weddings, corporate, family, sporting, film sight, etc) that can't accommodate the larger groups." This is where Alden Park-ed has an edge. "It started with the desire to cater more weddings, as our space inside of our restaurant is a bit limited to handle certain events," said Wunder. "Instead of expanding our searching for a new location, I decided to think outside the box." Literally, and figuratively! "I just thought why not go to the party instead of trying to get all of them to come to us? In September, we will even be doing a wedding on Nantucket with this philosophy. People love what we do so, I wanted to come up with a way where we could share that even more." Of course, adding an incredible mobile food truck certainly helps bring in some new customers and clientele. "This put us on the catering map and brought in a lot of attention. A truck highlighted by 40' of steel and sheet metal can do that in a hurry! Ultimately, there is nothing like having our own moving billboard! We have put together this state-of-the-art unit in order to handle anything you need. With this truck, we have the ability to serve well over 1,000 people and are not restricted to any facility. We have a full kitchen line on board with us, a 15 kV (100A) generator, two 100 lb. propane tanks, as well as both running cold and hot water."
