38 With these additions, there will be a large emphasis placed on local products. From 'nanobreweries' (an immensely scaled down form of a microbrewery, producing beers in small batches) to offerings from local distilleries, we strive to have the greatest selection of locally made products around. This point is important to us, as we love supporting our local industry friends. Partnering directly with these producers to create special, limited edition products in a collaborative way is very exciting for us. Our "Kappy's Barrel Series" beers are one example. With this series of releases, we provide local breweries with used bourbon barrels and they produce beers specifically for us to sell to our customers. Some really cool, interesting beers have been made for us this way. We know that there's nothing like fresh, unique beer brewed right down the street! That idea of locality, being a supporter and integral member of the community, is at the core of our philosophy. Whether it is carrying Massachusetts-made beers and spirits to partnering with local businesses and organizations on promotions, fundraisers, etc., we want to weave ourselves into the fabric of the greater Norwell and entire South Shore community in any way possible. Kappy's also prides itself on being an event-driven business. Many times throughout the year, we'll host wine and spirits tastings, including some with local brewers and distillers and others showcasing various fine wine portfolios from around the world. Wine dinners at local restaurants, bartending mixology trainings and various food and beverage pairing tastings are just some of the other events that we will host for our customers. As they do in our other locations, these events bring the community together and help educate our customers, making their product choices and social events more interesting and entertaining. For example, less than two weeks after we opened, on Saturday, May 7, we held our first special event at the storeā€¦"Kappy's Derby Day Celebration." Many of you were present for our big theme day, OPENS ITS FIRST SOUTH SHORE LOCATION Continuing a Great Family Tradition... After many years of business in towns on the North Shore, Cape and Western Massachusetts, Kappy's Fine Wine & Spirits is thrilled to finally be a part of the South Shore community. In April, Kappy's acquired Marsh's Wine & Spirits in Norwell. We are proud to have been chosen by the Marsh family to continue the excellent service that they have provided Norwell and the surrounding South Shore communities for years. Founded in 1940, Kappy's is a fourth generation family business whose success is based on the ideals of exemplary customer service, great products and low prices. We are proud to be a Massachusetts leader in these categories. In continuing Marsh's tradition of providing customers with an extensive selection of wines, we will look to expand and diversify the wine department. Kappy's Fine Wine & Spirits stores are known as places where one can find great quality, inexpensive wines, as well as wines that are on the higher end of the price spectrum. From a Friday night 'pizza' wine to cellar-worthy, special occasion wines, we will stock thousands of choices up and down the price range. In addition to carrying Massachusetts' largest number of name brand items, we will also source hard to find wine (and spirit) labels, providing a terrific price/value option for our customers. It is not, however, just the wine category in which we excel, as there will be a large expansion of the craft beer and spirits selections in our new location. For decades, Kappy's has been ahead of the curve when it has come to craft beer and boutique spirits, and our emphasis in those departments will be in full view in Norwell. We plan on introducing over 100 new craft beers from across the U.S. and all over the world. Six-packs will be added, as will numerous single bottle offerings ranging from 12 to 25 ounces. You will also notice many additions in the cider and mead selections. Dozens of boutique spirits across all categories will be added. Hard to find, much sought after bottlings will be stocked alongside unique products from around the world. by Joe Selby
