39 which included our associates wearing their Kentucky Derby hats, as well as our 'Roses and Rose' tasting. We also featured beer and donut tastings, bourbon and bacon samplings, mint julep mixing and, of course, the ice-cream truck in the parking lot to cap off the day! It was a fun day for all and a great way for us to meet so many of our new friends in Norwell! Along with our customers, our employees are our most important concern, as they are a tremendous asset to our success. Our well educated, knowledgeable staff members work tirelessly on providing the technical information and 'back story' on the products that they are suggesting, helping our customers to better understand the beverage in their glass. Our employees go through a vast amount of product training and tastings in order to make the perfect recommendation and to provide each customer with the right product for his or her needs. Many of our employees have traveled all over California and Europe to see the wine-making process on a first hand basis. Some have also been to distilleries in Tennessee and Kentucky to experience the whiskey blending process. This up- close look is an invaluable tool for our employees and allows them to share their personal experience with our customers, painting a picture that brings them to the vineyards or inside the distillery. Speaking of our employees, many of you have already noticed and commented on how we have retained the entire employee base that has been working at the store. We feel that it is imperative to retain the outgoing, community atmosphere that the Marsh family has cultivated at the Norwell location. The connection the customers have with the welcoming, knowledgeable staff of the store is tremendous. Hopefully, you have also noticed the additional friendly faces of new associates we have hired to assist with all of your beverage needs! Kappy's also offers a full-service beverage planning and delivery service. Our "Kappy's On Call" service works with customers who are having a party, wedding or corporate or charitable event, as it assists with planning the events' beverage needs. We also work directly with the function facilities and will deliver all of the products to a given location. Another unique service that we offer is the "Kappy's Concierge" service, where a designated wine, spirits or beer manager will work directly with customers who want a more personalized, one-on-one experience. In many cases, these customers prefer to shop via telephone and/or email, and might have wine needs such as wine-cellar consultation, investment purchasing and other concerns. We plan on offering all of these things and more at our new Norwell location, but more than anything, we want to be a contributing member and friend of the community. We have 75 years of practice in this regard, and we plan on being a great friend from day one in Norwell and to continue the Marsh relationship with the South Shore community for many years to come.
