18 CATS Academy's Director of College Counseling, Sophia Meas, said Noh's experience is what CATS hopes to bring to student's lives. "We are really about educating the whole person," said Meas. Noh "found talents that he might not have had a chance to explore at home. We want our students to come out of high school with the skills, knowledge, reasoning and confidence to make the right decisions for their lives going forward in college and in the work force." Another huge selling point for parents is the tried and true core principles of Cambridge Education, which has been educating the 14 - 18 year old students for over 60 years in the U.K. CATS features an international student body for a globally-conscious education, small class size (12 - 14 students maximum per class) to maximize the student's active involvement and learning, private tutoring when needed that is available at the school, a comfortable experience (there are 250 - plus support staffers on each campus), ongoing access to a higher education counseling team and plenty of opportunities to learn professions during school breaks. A visitor taking a tour of the school noticed that the art work on the walls was literally all made by the students who attend. Also notable are a robotics class (they build their own, test them out and compete in class and outside the school), history students working on a timeline of the Holocaust and World War II and a keyboarding class for students to learn about music. For parents, the decision about where to send your child is not entirely based on the classroom. What about when your student is not in class? CATS offers over 100 extra-curricular activities and sports, providing students the opportunity to hone skills and learn new ones. Some of CATS facilities include a brand new gym, where students can either join the basketball team or just play a pickup game, two yoga studios, a rowing machine (ERG) area (this was created for students who have organized a crew team) and a soccer field. "I like to get involved and join activities and learn something new," said Bhanashali, as she exited the yoga studio. "There are a lot of things to choose. I actually get really tired at the end of the day, so I take a nap every day after school when activities are over. I like that I get to try so many things while I'm in high school." The school just finished live performances of senior Gabriela Santana Taveras's play, "The Sun Rises Later."
