19 directed and produced the play, while students made the stage props, designed the clothes and performed. "Everything you see here was done by the students," said Bhanashali, showing a visitor the performance room. Now, with a permanent home for its expanding school so close to the many higher education institutions of Boston, CATS Academy is enjoying its new digs. "This is a perfect location for our campus," said Chris Angell, Head of School at CATS. "We are only minutes away from Boston, with room to grow." The former buildings at the site may have required significant interior renovations, but features such as the arched windows and brick exterior lend themselves to an academic campus as well, he noted. "All we need is to start growing ivy on some of this brick outside and the picture is complete for people walking by outside," Angell said. "We are growing fast and would like to extend the opportunity of a CATS education to the community." said Gunther. To encourage local students to apply, CATS is offering 15 scholarships for day students entering in the fall of 2017. Full-year tuition for non-boarding students is $19,640, but applying for one of the CATS scholarships would cut costs down for students to "about $5,000 to $7,000 a year," according to Gunther, which is "significantly less than area private schools." Full-year tuition, including room and board, is $40,840 for students at CATS Academy Boston. To find out more about CATS Academy, go to the website www.catseducation.com. The Boston/Braintree campus is listed in the pull-down menu under "locations." The address is 2001 Washington Street, Braintree, MA, 02184. TheSouthShoreMagazine.com
