time for the warm weather. We also continue to offer plenty of local options. Come on down to try a few. Though we have tastings of every kind throughout the entire year, spring is when the in-store events really crank up. Here are just a few... - On April 21, we highlighted two grape varietals that occasionally don't get the respect that they deserve: Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel. From bright and crisp to ripe and barrel-aged, Sauvignon Blanc can come in many forms. The same can also be said of Zinfandel and the many examples that we tasted will prove that. - On May 6, we celebrated the Kentucky Derby by tasting a selection of nice Bourbons and springtime dry Rosés. It is called the 'Running of the Roses' after all! - Speaking of Rosés, to celebrate Mother's Day on Saturday, May 13, we handed out the botanical Rosés to all of the mothers who stop by the store. - On May 20, we showed off our beer department with a HUGE tasting. Lots of breweries were represented, including Jack's Abby, Bent Water, Lord Hobo, Castle Island, Shipyard, Notch, Bad Martha and many more. - On June 10, we will be holding our first ever storewide summer tasting. We're not discriminating for this one, as beers, wines and spirits will all be open for sampling. This will be a great opportunity to stock up for backyard grilling, summer parties, weddings and more. This will be one of our largest tastings of the entire year, so make sure to mark your calendar! - And not to leave out the dads, in honor of Father's Day on Saturday, June 17, we'll taste one of the all-time favorite dad beverages, Single Malt Scotches! We'll have some great bottles open, so it's definitely worth making the trip down to taste a couple or to choose one for that perfect gift. These are just a few of our spring and summer events, so stay tuned for more. A convenient way to 'stay tuned' for not only tastings, but for special sales and limited time offers is to sign up for our email list. This is a great way to stay informed. In addition to informative articles, we send wine reviews, cocktail recipes and much more. The next time you're in our store, ask one of us to help you sign up. Sticking with the multimedia theme, make sure to check out our ever- growing website, www.kappys.com. A greatly expanded version of the information that shows up in your inbox can be found here. You can also search our inventory for that special bottle that you are trying to track down. Our delivery service continues to grow, and we'd love for you to take advantage of it. Through our Kappy's On Call beverage service, we can help you plan for both small and large events. This is a busy time of year with graduations and weddings, so let us help you remove some of the stress from organizing those events. We can consult, deliver and pickup (and offer quantity discounts), so please let us know how we can help. It doesn't have to be a big event, however, to get us on the road. Through our Drizly service, we can offer home delivery on a same-day basis. This convenient service aims to provide some relief to our customers' busy days by bringing our store right to their door. Spring brings us to the end our first full year on the South Shore. As detailed above, we've added to our departments, expanded our website and grown our delivery service. We have a lot more of that planned for this year, including the many tastings listed above. Most importantly, we've met a ton of great customers over the past year, and we're looking forward to meeting many more. See you soon! 104 Washington Street • Norwell • www.kappys.com 781.878.5042 • justask@kappys.com 39
